Hello. Yesterday my magic mouse 2 suddenly started moving the cursor in only two directions (a 45 degree angle). The movement is very stuttered too. I tried restarting my macbook and my magic mouse too. The trackpad works fine. Should I have the mouse replaced?

There's no reason not to have it tested if you have an apple store near to you. But you could check the mat that you are using in case it is soiled in some way or even try putting down a sheet of off white paper or card and using that as the mat for a test. You only need take the mouse itself. As an alternative do you have a friend nearby who has Apple iMac or MBP who would co-operate to test your mouse.
If you have introduced new electronics within the vicinity of your machine, a Wacom tablet and pen or a phone hub for example, that could be a cause
